Holiday Fundscrip Campaign

Hello Everyone,

We’re just on the heels of an overwhelmingly successful Victorian Tea Fundraiser, which sold out and drew in over $3,500.00 for our family. A huge thank you to all our sponsors, volunteers, and attendees who made this event possible! We will be posting photos soon.

Just in time for the holidays, we’re kicking off our second Fundscrip campaign, which offers you a simple and no-cost way that you can help by paying for your everyday purchases and gifts with gift cards!

By simply changing your method of payment, you can help contribute toward changing the lives of refugees.

PORT UNION CARES has teamed up with FundScrip to provide you access to gift cards for over 220 popular retailers. There’s no catch. Buy cards at face value, get face value at the retailers. Each card you purchase generates a percentage towards our cause. It’s that simple!

The gift cards are the same cards you would purchase if you went directly to the stores to buy them. Buying them this way saves you time and energy, and lets you help a great cause!

Have a look at the list of retailers participating in FundScrip. The list includes most of the large grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants, department stores and retailers where we all shop regularly. And remember  —  the holidays are coming. Here’s an opportunity to help those in need and cross people off your gift list at the same time. Definitely a win-win situation!!

This is an example of how you might fill out the form. The percentage indicates how much Fundscrip returns to Port Union Cares. There is no cost to you. If you spend $100 ordering gift cards, you will receive $100 in gift cards. 

  1. What’s your order?
    1. Email with your order.
      1. You can type it out in the body of the email, but please communicate all details on the form so we know the (1) retailer, (2) dollar value of each gift card (3) quantity requested, and (4) total.
        1. For example: “Retailer: Food Basics; Dollar value: $25; Quantity: 4; Total: $100.00,” “Retailer: Pizza Pizza; Dollar value: $500; Quantity: 1; Total $500”
      2. OR you can scan a copy of the form, completed. We can also pick up the hard copy if you live in our community.
  2. After calculating your total, pay for your order in advance:  
    1. CASH? Email me for pickup if you live in the community.
    2. E-TRANSFER? Please send all transfers to and use ‘fundscrip’ as the password.
    3. CHEQUE? Please make it payable to PORT UNION CARES and contact us to arrange a pick up
  3. Orders will be shipped to our team lead and we will deliver them to you provided you’re in the GTA.
